Day 2: Plane Ride, McDonald's, Check-in, and Planning
Our drive to the airport the next day was kinda hectic. We forgot a book that one of our friends gave us at our reception describing the best places to go and things to do in Oahu. We were bummed. Neither of us had been there or knew of many suggested places to go to. My Dad was sweet and ran our book up to us on our drive out to the airport. (Thanks!) As I described before, my hubby didn't have time to pack until the night before, needless to say it was a bit unorganized. I sat in the back seat of the car and tried to consolidate our packing into one suitcase so we didn't have to pay for another bag to be checked (we both over packed- wouldn't you :)) We got to the airport just in time, parked our car, and loaded a shuttle.
After loading the plane, we nestled in our seats and watched a movie. We had our own little row- it was perfect! I love window seats!
We landed, got in our rental car, and drove to the hotel to check in. On the way we saw like 30 McDonald's restaurants (which seemed to be a recurring thing throughout our trip). Why are there so many of them in Hawaii?! They were like churches in Salt lake! One on every corner I swear! Probably even more. I won't bore you with those pictures. We never could figure it out.
When we got to the hotel we unpacked and planned the basics of what we wanted do on our trip. There were so many options! We had gathered pamphlets, booklets, papers, and more by this point to give us ideas of where we should go! It wasn't too hard to make a list of things we wanted to do but we quickly got worried that we wouldn't be able to fit them all in. It was fun dreaming of all the things we could do. We ended up just soaking in the scenery and going to dinner that night. The sunset was beautiful!
