Aloha! Day 3

Day 3: Pali Lookout, Kailua beach, Polynesian Culture Center, Hawaii Temple, Luau, dancing, and a night show

The next day we woke up about 4-5 am! Why we woke up that early on a vacation is still a mystery to me! I guess there was some time differences but still, we could have slept in more. It was my favorite part of the day most days. Seeing the sunrise out our window, no one on the beach. It was beautiful! We decided to eat breakfast and then explore the island! We got in the car and just started driving.

The greenery on the side of the roads was amazing! I could have drove the whole day and never got bored of what I saw!

We stopped at a lookout point that later we found was pretty famous. Although it was fairly windy, the view was amazing! The pictures just don't do it justice!

Sure wish my eyes were open in that one! The background is amazing to me!

My cute little Hubby! Isn't he adorable!

I think that my one little Alfalfa hair is pretty freaking amazing in that picture, wouldn't you say! How did the wind pull just that one little strand so high?! Ha ha!

Yet again evidence of the wind....

There were so many funky plants growing! Look how this tree winds around! Isn't it amazing!

Our drive continued...

Another stop along the way....

Me deciding if we shouldn't go for a hike through such a thick jungle. We didn't. It looked kinda scary!

After we got back in our car something smelled really, really bad! I had my new hubby check his shoes and we found poop! Sick!! It was so pungent! I thought I would really throw up! I rolled down the window to breath some fresh air. It took everything in me not to barf! I felt so bad but couldn't pull my head back in to help him. We pulled over at the nearest building which just so happened to be a gas station- thank goodness! We were both giggling at how gross the situation was and how I reacted. Kind of hysteric I guess but very real for me. Sorry I couldn't help you in your time of need hunny :/

Our next stop... The beach!

We got a little snack and were back on the road.

Our last stop- the Polynesian Cultural Center! There was so much to do here! We went on a guided tour of the center...
Played island games...

Performed in dance contests...

Watched people climb up palm trees to get us a cocoanut (I didn't get a picture of this but it was cool).... Watched comedy shows.... and dancing.... lots of performances....

Listened to good music...
David even got to go fishing while we were there! (His favorite thing to do) Believe it or not this stick fishing is actually a really hard thing to do.

There was a floating parade on the river that performed dances for us...

We went to a luau with dancers...

Tried funky new foods that tasted amazing! I love food! You can't tell that I'm excited at all. We were so hungry after such a long day of fun filled activity!

We got up and danced on the stage... Thanks neighbors for taking our picture! ...and thanks for not stealing our camera too! That would have been a big bummer.

We had so much fun! Then, we jumped on a tour bus that took us to BYU Hawaii campus and to the temple. Sister missionaries guided the tour and handed out pamphlets to nonmembers it was cool to see them in action. They did a great job! Very inviting.

We stopped at the beautiful Hawaiian temple and walked through. I forgot my recommend so we couldn't do a session there. I'm still kicking myself!

Look how pretty the sky was! Hawaii is so colorful! You can't take a bad picture.

We ended the night with a show. It was amazing but we were both exhausted from the day's adventures so we left around half time... already an old married couple :)
