Day 4: Pineapple Plantation, North Shore, Snorkeling, Shaved Ice, and Dinner on the Beach
We loved our drive the day before so much that we decided to go for another one when we woke up. Along the way we ran into the Dole Pineapple Plantation! At the door, a local was selling clams. We decided to open one up and see if there was a pearl inside. It was kind of gross opening it up but we got the most beautiful pink pearl! I was so excited to make it into jewelry when we got home!
The plant life here was amazing! I love plants of the tropics!
We jumped on a trolly and took a tour around the plantation. To our surprise we found no pineapples, no workers... just dirt and a few banana trees. Weirdest tour I've ever been on but it was fun just sitting next to my hubby and giggling about what we saw :)
We found these next 2 little pineapples near the entrance of the plantation. Tiniest little thing!
Made me hungry... Luckily we found some inside!
Next we decided to drive to north shore. We watched surfers ride their waves and old beach bums talk on the side of the road. We found a little snorkeling shop named Snorkel Bob's and decided it would be fun to go for a dive ourselves! We put on our gear and dove at sharks cove! (despite the name, no sharks were found)
Snorkeling was fun! The first time I put my face under the water I was shocked! I didn't expect to see that many fish! They were all over the place! It was so colorful under the water. I loved following them around and pretending I was going to catch one of them.
They say: never snorkel without a buddy in the ocean... Holding hands in the water provided a new challenge but we did and had so much fun! :)
Yep, thats pretty :)
Don't mind our suction cupped faces- we had fun!
Afterwards, we got the best shaved ice I have every had in my life! It was SO good! Why don't they make shaved ice that good anywhere else? I'm sure it would be a hit! We drove around north shore's old little towns and headed back to the hotel to get ready. Later that evening we went to dinner on Wakiki beach. This time I remembered the camera...
I love silhouette pictures. Don't you?!
It almost looks fake it's so beautiful!
